“There are only three things to be done with a woman. You can love her, suffer for her, or turn her into literature.”
~ Henry Miller
So, what is it with men?
Why can’t a girl peacefully stand on the road and wait for her bus?
Why can’t she ask for a lift in case she is running late?
Why can’t she be seen as just another human being wanting for a little help, and not as an object?
Why does she have to hear every vehicle honking at her to get her attention?
Why can’t she be roaming the streets alone without being speculated upon?
Why is any of her gestures interpreted as an invitation for sex?
Why is she reminded at every step that she is a female body?
Why can’t she breathe the air of freedom and equality?
Why does she have to compromise her wishes because her father/boyfriend/son/husband wants her to?
Why can’t she be protected and not oppressed?
Why does she feel helpless in spite of her strength and capability of conquering the world?
Why is it so difficult for a woman to exist?
